We cannot support any initiative with a resale program, even if it is only a small amount being resold. If you raise funds to purchase and donate 10,000 laptops, that would be OK.
I am happy to hear your team is prepared for deployment in France.
Answers to your questions:
- What is the price for 10 000 XO delivered in France? (transport cost included) Does it include custom tax and if not, do you have a idea of the custom price for such a product in France? Should be very close to $210 per unit.
- How long to get 10 000 XO ? Is it a one time delivery? We have 120 day lead times from date of purchase. They do not all have to be delivered at once.
- How is the packaging ? How many XOs by box ? What total volume and weight for 10 000 XOs ? We can package 1 – 3 – 5 per box. Each unit weighs close to 2kg.
- Do you manage storage of the purchased XOs in France? You will manage storage of units in France
- How far can we personalize the XO ? For example: use a custom build for operating system, French keyboard, French power supply adapter, …? You can order French keyboard and power adapter. The French operating system is dependent on the local community translating.
- Does the XO have the "CE Mark" conformity ? If not could you certify yourself the conformity ? The XO has CE, CB, and EMC certifications.
- Are you responsible for the product quality? What happens if some XOs has malfunctions ? Do you include a guarantee period ? Is there a way to buy some replacement pieces ? There is a 90 day warranty. We will also have a spare parts website soon.
- What are the payment modalities ? Advanced payment can be made by wire transfer or check .
- Can we receive your basic purchasing contract ? We will have this available for you, but we need to know exactly how many you need to buy in order to quote you correctly for pricing including shipping. Is it 10K? Do you agree to not resell the laptops?

Thanks a lot for your answer but I need more precision.
First, I must say that we don't really plan to “resale” laptops. Our objective is just to get money to finance free deployment of XOs for defavorised children in France. So most of XOs we'll get should be distribute freely.
Second, I must say that as an OLPC Grassroot, we perfectly know how to manage and deploy laptops. Most of us are already familiar with the XO and the Sugar operating system: as user, as administrator and as developer.
Finally, lot of my question has no answer in your mail. More precisely:
